GETTING CERTIFIED TO BECOME A SECURITY PROFESSIONAL

CERTIFICATION:

Anyone desirous of becoming a security professional in NYS, must be certified by a registered Security Guard Training School before applying for their NYS Security Guard License.

Certification needed to become and continue to be a security professional are: (1) 8 hour pre-assignment, (2) 16 hour On-The-Job training (3) 8 hour annual in-service-training.

At Security Academy of New York (S.A.N.Y.) we offer all of the above classes for a fraction of what other schools offer. Packages are also available.

Students also benefit from our free job assistance, guideance and application form to apply to Albany for your license. S.A.N.Y. can and will guarantee you interviews with one or two reputable security companies.

WARNING:

Be aware of other schools / companies that promise you one or all of the following:

(1) Guaranteed job placement - this means that you and about 50 others are promised a job every day. In one week they will have to find jobs for you and hundreds of other desperate individuals. In addition, who do you know will promise hundreds of people a job over the phone.

(2) Price - The above promise usually follows with a fee of a few hundred dollars. Why you may ask...because when you use the words "guaranteed job placement" with unemployed individuals, the result is usually met with the unemployed individuals paying hundreds of dollars to get the two security certificates needed. Some schools may also give you one price via the phone and then add more money to the price when you arrive to register. Please be careful.

(3)Other Certificates - Be careful of the possibility of being told that the more certificates you have, the better your chances are of getting a job and a higher salary. This is not a fact. As an employer myself, let me give you an example. If I hire a doctor who is also an engineer to work as a security officer, he will be paid the rate of a security officer, regardless of the other documents he may have. If you decide to get other certificates, get it because you want the knowledge, not because you want a job or more money. Remember this, you will always be paid what the job is worth, not what you are worth. This is an unfortunate fact.

S.A.N.Y. will train and educate you with up-to-date information about the security industry, what your employer expects of you, what your client expects of you and what you should expect of them.

Call or email us and ask about our $75 package. 646 942 1457 / securityacademyny@gmail.com
